محمد الأمين – ودمعي Mohammed al-Amin “Disrupted”

ودمعي

A very different offering as compared to the classic old school album I posted recently, find here playful flourishes in the orchestra, keyboards, and a lighthearted sound overall.

Find it here!

And here’s the tracklist:

  1. These are fantastic, thanks so much for your efforts! How hard is it to track down and compile these and does it require a working knowledge of Arabic, if you don’t mind me asking?

    1. Glad you’re enjoying these tracks! It’s not difficult, just tedious. I don’t read Arabic at all, so I rely on google translate and visual comparison to locate the tracks. It probably takes about 1 hour to put together one album… unless it’s a more obscure artist or a very old release.

  2. Ah, I see, thanks. Would you know if there’s any resources/mp3 sites out there for other lesser-known North African music, like Mauritanian or Tuareg? There’s loads of blogs covering Moroccan stuff, but not much for those.

    1. If you’re willing to do some deep digging, I’d recommend searching through Facebook, Soundcloud and Mixcloud. I don’t know of any specific resources, but I’ve noticed that lots of music communities all over the world are using social media sites to share music. Places like the Nuba Mountains and South Sudan are good examples… there’s tons of stuff on Facebook but nothing on the mp3 sites.
